rigging

As part of our service at Tensilefabric.co.uk we also offer a comprehensive rigging service - meaning that we can provide chandlery and cabling, as well as fitting it in place using our experienced rigging staff. Examples of this type of rigging include hand railing, signs and more complicated steel structures.

We offer both stainless steel and galvanised fittings/cables made off in either the Nico process (see image) or roller swage process (see image)

Roller swage

Photo shows fork terminal top and threaded stub below fixed to 6mm cable using the roller swage technique. This involves the local crushing of the terminal onto the cable, compressing all parts to make an extremely strong connection. This process is best carried out off site as it requires the use of hydraulic machinery.

Nico press detail

Detail shows Nico press terminal to the end of 2.5mm Stainless steel cable. Coated copper 'ferrel' (collar like section) is crushed onto cable to make a very strong connection. A thimble (lining to loop) is inserted to protect the cable and inserted pin from point loading - this operation is easily carried out on site by hand.

6mm Rigging Screw

6mm stainless steel rigging screw shown with ruler to show scale of this lightweight tensioner. This type of rigging screw or turnbuckle is generally used for interior or decorative use due to load bearing capability is limited.

Image shows 6mm rigging screw connected to 2.5mm nico press cable end. Connection is made with a single pin and is easily removed when required.
