The Judith Adams Centre is a dementia specialist day care centre in Chichester. The 1980s building has been undergoing a refurbishment programme and we worked alongside the client and the main contractor to provide some fabric elements to help visually soften the space.

They wanted to introduce some softness into several of their indoor areas and offer an alternative shape to all the sub-straights.

We created some shade sails for one of the upstairs areas to create a more pleasant environment and to offer some essential protection from sun glare and heat.

We also added a canopy to the entrance area and some sails into the hall area to help break up the space.

The suspended sails in the main room are on a pulley system to make them easy to clean by being dropped to near floor level.
